Make N Takes

Just wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming January $5.00 Make N Takes on Friday, January 2, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday, January 3, from 10:30am - 1:30pm (sample cards can be seen on the attachment). Pre-Registration is a MUST (by Thursday, January 1st), and all of the money will be donated to Relay for Life, so, as always, the creative time spent at The Coo is for a good cause! 

December Schedule

Just wanted to get the December Calendar out to you in the event that you are all caught up on your holiday shopping and you have a little play time on your hands - ha!

Rent-A-Space is being offered again in December and pre-registration is a must to ensure a cleared spot for you! Remember, this is NOT a class, it is an opportunity to spread out and get caught up on whatever project you are working on!

Saturday, December 20, there will be 10% off your entire purchase (not including gift cards), so come do some shopping if you can squeeze it into your schedule!

November Update

The November calendar is available. [View Now] It is pretty straight-forward, but there are a few items worth mentioning. 

One is the "Rent-a-Space" which is being offered as a result of numerous requests from patrons looking for a place to escape and get some work done. This month it will be offered on both Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22. Pre-Registration is a MUST in order to ensure spaces for people who want to attend. The time slots are 10:00am - 1:00pm (on Friday and/or Saturday) and 1:30pm - 4:30pm (on Friday and/or Saturday). The charge is $5.00 for a three-hour slot. 

NOTE: This is NOT a class; it is simply an opportunity to get away from home and get some work done. No consumable materials or supplies will be provided, but non-consumables are available for use. If you plan on attending, please plan on bringing your own supplies and materials or purchasing them. Pre-registration must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Warning: Space is limited so register early if you are interested in attending..

Second, On Saturday, November 29, The Coo will be celebrating its 6-year anniversary - whoop whoop! A huge thank you to all who have helped us get to where we are today! The fun will be from 10:00am - 6:00pm, with FREE Make N Takes (see the available time slots) held at three different times (Pre-registration is a MUST). Refreshments, Giveaways and Prizes! Take a break from the mall or whatever else is on your schedule and come join us in the celebration!

On a more serious note, Cootie Coo Creations has begun an "In Memory of Jane Pitrat" collection for Relay for Life. Checks may be made out to the American Cancer Society and sent or taken to the shop. For those of you who did not know Jane, she was a compassionate friend and generous and courageous woman. She will be greatly missed and her passing has left a big hole in the hearts of many. Rest in Peace, Jane.

October 19th Journal Jam

Description of October Journal Jam

Here are two versions of our upcoming Day of the Dead project on Oct. 19.  Besides making a colorful page, we’ll learn one way of working with and altering a magazine page.  I hope you will go wild and use this paintover technique to alter some other faces in the future!  I’ll show you an easy way of drawing your own color-coordinated ephemera flowers to use for paper crafts too.  We’ll be using Dylusions Spray Inks again for the background, so dress accordingly!

I have copies made for you (either size journal) of good faces for altering, and have all other things you’ll need.  If anything, you could check your stash for paper or wrapping paper with gaudy flowers to use for decoration on the pages, but I will have a variety on hand.

Pocket Accordion Mini Album

This chipboard accordion-style mini album is decorated with the Graphic 45 “By the Sea” paper collection, so sign up for this class and “sea” how easy it is to use the By The Sea collection (coordinating paper, stamps and embellishments) to create a gorgeous sea-themed accordion-style mini album.

Participants will use layering and inking techniques to create a one-of-a-kind product that others will be envious of! All skill levels are welcome! The first three people to register will win a FREE prize from Louise and a drawing will be held during the workshop for one more prize. What fun! Cost $30

Medallion Stamp Workshop

Join Donna Roskey in her Medallion Stamp Workshop. Participants will choose to make the Christmas Wreath or the Harvest Design for their project. All materials and supplies provided!

Cootie Coo Update

Just a quick note to say hello while I still have my sanity! Craziness will begin in just 9 days and I can't wait!! There is a little prelude to the insanity with our ONE DAY Saturday sale of 50% off all Giving Gallery items! These craft items are already at rock bottom prices and on Saturday, the prices will be slashed in half..OMG...can you believe it?? Come early to take advantage of the fantastic bargains!!

This Friday and Saturday there will be $5.00 Make N Takes (a $5.00 donation to Relay for Life)and then no classes until Craziness begins! The day after Craziness I will be boarding a plane for ITALY so the shop will be closed until Friday, November 7, when we will once again have our $5.00 Make N Takes - phew!!

Polymer Clay Creatures workshop

Meet the dynamic Mother & Daughter Duo, Linda and Tammy, who will be conducting the All-Day Polymer Clay Creatures workshop on Sunday, October 12, during Cootie Coo Craziness. You are going to LOVE them and the wonderful creatures you will make with them! You don't want to miss this class!

Pocket Accordian Mini Album with Louise Damon

If you love the sea, you are going to FLIP over this accordion album that Louise has designed for Craziness using the Graphic 45 collection "By the Sea". The workshop will be held Saturday morning, October 11, in High Springs. The cost of the class is $35.00, and you will leave with a gem of an album! The base of the album is old file folders, but the results are simply stunning! There are places to add photos or other embellishments, places to journal and beautiful layouts. What more could you ask for? Go ahead, take a peek!

Here it is...what so many of you have been waiting for...Liz Lazo presents her Vintage Canvas for upcoming Craziness. This workshop is Saturday morning, October 11, from 9:00am - 12:30pm and there are still some openings in her class. Cootie Coo Craziness: Magazine Makeovers

October 10, 2014
9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.


Instructor: Terry Peattie
Take an ordinary magazine picture and make it extraordinary! Wonderful for art journals and mixed media pieces, altered magazine images offer an unlimited opportunity for originality and creativity. Participants will explore different background options and then try different ways of altering pictures, making them truly their own. An art journal is required for this class (any size), preferably one with at least 90# paper. Participants need to bring a white Gel pen for this workshop (Signo UM153 is the best). The material fee for this class is to cover the cost of a 9x12 Strathmore Mixed Media journal. If no journal is required, no fee needs to be paid. Participants will leave with one or more unique magazine makeovers.
Cost: $30 plus $15 materials fee

Sneak Peek: "Say It with Sass" Mixed Media Art Canvases

Meet Terry Peattie, Mixed Media Artist, who will be guiding participants through the process of creating "Sassy" canvases using a variety of layered techniques. Everyone in the session will get to create two different sassy-pieces. This exhilarating class will be offered twice during Craziness (both Friday afternoon, October 10, and Sunday afternoon , October 13), so you are sure to be able to work it into your schedule!! Have fun getting sassy, ladies and gents!!
